A cross-platform backup and synchronisation utility that's packed with features

Syncovery for Mac is an excellent file backup and synchronization tool for Mac, supporting real-time automatic backups. It is currently one of the most powerful real-time automatic backup tools available. Syncovery works with local hard drives, network drives, and any other mounted volumes. Furthermore, it supports FTP, SSH, HTTP, WebDAV, Amazon S3, Google Drive, Microsoft Azure, SugarSync, Box.net, and many other cloud storage providers. Its features are very robust, making it convenient for professionals who need to back up important data. It can help you back up your data in real-time and synchronize personal computers, Mac computers, servers, laptops, and online storage spaces. You can set up numerous different jobs and run them manually or using a schedule as needed.

Software Installation Tutorial

1. After downloading the software resource package from this site, decompress it. You will obtain a runnable program file named "SyncoveryMac.dmg". Double-click to open and run it.

2. After running, "SyncoveryMac (double-click to install).pkg" will appear. Double-click to run it again.

3. The installation interface will appear. Click "Continue".

4. Click "Continue" again on this step. A password prompt will appear. Enter your macOS startup password and click "OK".

5. The software will enter automatic installation. As the software is large, the installation process might take some time. Please be patient.

6. Installation successful. Click "Close".

7. After installation is complete, run Syncovery.app. Click "Registration" under the "Help" menu in the top left navigation bar of the software.

8. Copy the registration provided in the data package to the software and click "OK".

Usage Tutorial

1. Since the software is not downloaded from the Apple App Store, installation might be blocked on some computers, leading to installation failure. To ensure successful installation of Navicat for MySQL Mac, Xiao Liang recommends enabling the installation of apps from unidentified developers on your Mac.

2. If your Mac system is below 10.12, please directly check "Allow apps downloaded from: Anywhere" in the "Security & Privacy" module.

3. If your Mac system is 10.12 or above, the solution is to open the macOS Terminal. Then, paste "sudo spctl --master-disable" into "Terminal.app" and run the code. This will resolve issues like "Installation file is damaged" or "Unable to install".

Software Functions

1. Synchronize or Back Up Files

Complete folder structures in different locations, such as PC, Mac, laptop, or online storage. There are no limits regarding file size, number of files, or filename length. The program fully supports Unicode characters, allowing it to copy filenames in any language.

2. Configuration

Each synchronization job is saved as a configuration file, so you only need to specify the settings once. You can run multiple configuration files with a single click. You can also run configuration files from the command line. Configuration files can be created using the wizard or advanced mode.

3. Parallel Copying of Multiple Files

You can copy 1 to 10 files in parallel. This can significantly speed up the copying phase. When editing a configuration file in advanced mode, simply specify the number of simultaneous copy threads on the "Files" tab.

4. Includes a Scheduler

Schedule data synchronization on your hard drive daily at a convenient time, or as frequently as needed. You can also schedule configuration files to run upon shutdown or logout. The scheduler can start different jobs in parallel or sequentially. On Windows, the scheduler can run as a service without requiring a user login.

5. Internet and Cloud Support

Supports various internet protocols, including FTP, FTPS, SFTP/SSH, WebDAV, SSL, HTTP, and these cloud services: Amazon S3 and compatible services, Microsoft Azure, Rackspace Cloud Files, Microsoft OneDrive (formerly SkyDrive), Google Drive and Google Docs, Dropbox, Box.com, etc.

6. Compression and Encryption Support

Easily compress files and encrypt them using strong 256-bit AES encryption. To decompress and decrypt, simply use the "Restore Wizard" or copy your configuration file and copy in the reverse direction.

7. Detect Moved Files

If you reorganize folders by moving files to different locations, Syncovery will detect this and quickly perform the same move on the other side of the synchronization, instead of deleting and recopying the files.

8. Smart Tracking

This operation mode is designed for two-way synchronization. It saves a database of all files, allowing it to detect file deletions and conflicts. Via the Configure button, you can access the SmartTracking dialog, where you can specify how to handle various situations that might occur in bidirectional synchronization.

9. Precise Mirror Mode

This operation mode is designed for one-way synchronization. In addition to copying newer files, this mode can also delete files that no longer exist on the source side, and if needed to create an exact mirror, it can replace older files with newer ones.

10. Unattended Mode

In this mode, no questions are asked while the configuration file is running. All relevant selections can be made in advance in the configuration file settings.

11. Copy Locked Files

If certain files cannot be copied because other software is accessing them, Shadow Copy can be used on Windows XP or later versions to copy the files. If a file cannot be copied, the synchronizer will continue copying the remaining files and then retry all locked files until all files are successfully copied. A time limit for retries can be specified. On Macintosh and Linux, locked files can also be copied, as the operating systems generally do not enforce locking as strictly as Windows does.

12. Versioning

This feature allows you to keep multiple old versions of each file in your backups. Several naming schemes are available.

13. Block-Level Copying (or Incremental Copying/Partial File Updates)

This feature only copies the changed parts of a file to speed up synchronization. See Block-Level Copying.

14. Database-Safe Mode

This mode requires exclusive access to the files to be copied. If exclusive access is not possible, "Shadow Copy" is used; otherwise, the program waits until exclusive access becomes possible.

The Recycle Bin can be used for old versions of overwritten files as well as deleted files. This gives you the opportunity to retrieve overwritten or deleted files. By default, the Recycle Bin is used for deletions, but not for updated files. These settings can be changed within the configuration file.

15. File Masks and Filters

There are many ways to select/deselect files and folders.

16. Daylight Saving Time/Time Zones

Due to consistent internal use of UTC/World Time, timezone differences rarely occur. However, if you find that file timestamps don't match (e.g., by 1 hour), the program can be set to ignore this and treat these files as the same—as long as the file sizes are identical and the difference is exactly 1 hour (or the precise time difference is less than the maximum allowed hours).

17. Easy Recovery When Disk is Full

You simply need more space and ask the software to continue copying. It can pause in the middle of files until extra space is freed up.

18. Outdated Folders

If you occasionally move outdated files to a specially designated folder, this usually causes trouble with traditional file synchronizers. They would copy the outdated files from your other machines back into the folder you moved them out of. Not anymore! If using the selected folder option, you can specify a folder for outdated files using the right mouse button. These folders are then considered to move files into them, but not copy files out of them. Therefore, the synchronizer performs the same outdated file move you previously did on another machine, but doesn't waste any time copying all the outdated files between the two machines.
