Notes

Tips for resolving warnings such as "from unidentified developer," "file corrupted," "disk cannot be mounted," and macOS Sierra not showing "Anywhere" option ↓

1. Case One: Double-clicking the .dmg installer shows a warning "Cannot open the following disk image." This may be due to an unknown issue during download or an incomplete download. The solution is to re-download the installer package.

2. Case Two: Warnings such as "App is damaged and can't be opened," or "Can't be opened because it is from an unidentified developer." Solution:

(1) Open "System Settings" - "Privacy & Security" - "General";

(2) Click the "Unlock" button at the lower-left corner;

(3) Check "Allow apps downloaded from: Anywhere," then lock the padlock.

3. For macOS Sierra 10.12 not showing the "Anywhere" option: Open the macOS Terminal, copy and paste the command sudo spctl --master-disable, press Enter, then enter your password (startup password). Note that the password will not be visible as you type. After entering the password, press Enter. The "Anywhere" option should reappear. Check the option and lock the padlock at the lower-left corner.
